The first book of Sophie Oak's "Nights In Bliss" series takes place in the small town of Bliss, Colorado. Founded by nudists and hippies and full of misfits, Bliss is a very progressive town and they encourage everyone to be as wacky as they want.
In this story we meet twins Max and Rye Harper. Max and Rye have been two halves of a whole their entire lives until a broken engagement leaves them hurt and deciding not to share anymore., Max is the cranky, temperamental bear of the town who breaks difficult horses. His twin, Rye, is the charmer of a sheriff.
While Rye is away on business, the beautiful Rachel hits town and Max finds himself falling head over heels for the first time ever. Only one problem...even the resident alien conspiracy theorist can she she's hiding something. As the three fight their attraction and the twins try to convince Rachel to stay, fun and hi jinx ensues.
This book is full of everything I love. Strong, beautiful women and sexy, dominant men. Lots of laughter and tenderness and men who think strength in women is an integral part of a working relationship. This book was such a fun and easy read! Sophie Oak knows how to create characters and friendships that touch your heart, get you invested in their happiness and have you looking forward to seeing them again in the next book.
Favorite quote from the book:
"Seriously?" Jen's eyes drifted between Rachel and the brothers. "What kind of perfume are you wearing? Esau de Ménage? Where do I get it?"
